On May 28, 2022 Limitless Ambition held our 7th Annual Ladies of Legacy Gala at the Akron Hilton Garden Inn! The event served both to celebrate the entrepreneurial spirit of women in our community who are achieving their dreams, and honor those who give towards helping fulfill our vision. The gala also aids Limitless Ambition in raising funds to continue our programs and outreach. We had over 150 community members in attendance and had a day full of wisdom, laughter and love!

De’Anna Edwards, a woman of great faith, is an award-winning educator with over 16 years of educational experience working with youth and young adults in various positions within both public and private school settings. She is a 2021 Shining Apple Award recipient. De’Anna was selected as a recipient of the The Shining Apple Award because her students wanted to recognize her for the impact she has on their lives. She is committed to exposing students to the world and the hidden strengths and talents they possess. She is known for her innovative and creative ideas used to address and remove obstacles standing in the way of our youth today. As the Akron Public Schools College & Career Academy Coach at Buchtel CLC, De’Anna has the unique opportunity to help catapult the students she serves towards their postsecondary success. In this position, De’Anna serves as the liaison among faculty, students, families, business partners, community and district leadership to develop and sustain College and Career Academies for all stakeholders.

College & Career Academies transforms the traditional high school experience to prepare all students for college and careers by linking academic subjects to career themes. De’Anna, founder and president of In D.U.E. (Declare! Unite! Expect!) Season has a gift for reaching, inspiring, and empowering couples struggling with infertility, owing to her own personal story. In D.U.E. Season, a faith-based, nonprofit organization, creates opportunities for couples struggling to conceive to come together with other couples who share similar experiences. This organization encourages couples to address and overcome the intrinsic battles fought by those enduring this silent struggle that hinder and inhibit their full growth and potential as individuals and as a couple. De’Anna believes it is only then that these couples can focus on the principles needed to help them endure during their time of waiting. De’Anna is also the co-founder of Married L.I.F.E (Loving Intentionally and in Full Expectation). Together, De’Anna and her husband work with married couples to remember their defining moments and pursue their true marriage assignment.

After graduating from Orrville High School, De’Anna attended the University of Akron on a full Track & Field scholarship where she was not only athletically talented, she was also recognized for her academic achievements. She received NCAA All-Academic Honors and the National Consortium for Academics. De’Anna graduated with a BA in Child and Family Development. She continued her education and earned a MA in Education with a School Counseling licensure. While serving as a School Counselor for over a decade, she proudly earned the highest rating of Accomplished on the Ohio School Counselor Evaluation System. As a first generation college graduate, De’Anna attributes much of her accomplishments to her strong support system, those who preceded her and the God who stands before her.

De’Anna is the daughter of Dwayne Caldwell and Grace Kenard; and the granddaughter of Henry and Essie Caldwell all of whom she believes molded and transformed her life into the woman she is today. She is happily married to her husband Leshaunte Edwards of 16 years and the two have one amazing son, Leshaunte Edwards, II aka Te-J who is a true testament of faith and God’s promises fulfilled.
